"Fashion anticipates, and elegance is a state of mind... a mirror of the time in which we live, a translation of the future, and should never be static" - Oleg Cassini

Valentino for Gap, did I hear that right?

First Lanvin for H&M, now Valentino for Gap, these luxury designers and high street fashion collaborations are just what we can't wait to get our mitts on.

After the huge success of Lanvin for H&M, I was concerned that all the attention might overshadow another interesting high end meets high street collaboration. But instead it couldn't have come at a better time.

The seven-piece Valentino for Gap collection launches this coming Saturday 27th November in London's flagship store from 9.30am and at Dover Street market from 11am. I will definetely be queing for this one so I better set my alarm clock nice and early.

Valentino's creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli regenerate Gap's traditional basics by taking pieces of quintessential utilitarian sportswear whilst introducing soft, feminine tailoring with a romantic twist. Although this collaboration consists of just seven pieces, attention to detail and a lot of time has gone into each piece which includes frill parkas, cargo pants, and tailored jackets with a Valentino finish, the signature bow.

"We love mixing different cultures and we have been excited to mix Gap's timeless essentials with our Roman culture of couture", said the two mastermind's behind the collection. "The collection brings together the iconic world of Valentino and Gap's fashion staples, synthesizing the current trend of combining luxury with basics."

With none of the style or quality lost and the clothing ranging between £89.99 and £149.99, it is exciting to know that the impossible has finally been made possible... having a bit of true Valentino to add to our wardrobes without having to worry about the bank balance!
